About Us

Active Care Chiropractic was started in summer 2008 by chiropractor Dr Philip Baines who realised there was a need here in York for the type of active care that he offered.

A very experienced Chiropractor, Dr Baines has lived and practiced all over the UK and has enjoyed helping a huge diversity of people from the very (very) old to the very (very) young from premiership footballers and world champion sports people to committed couch potatoes.

Over the years Phil has learned many varied chiropractic techniques for helping different people with different problems in different ways (learn more about these on the techniques page).

Phil and his wife Nancy have lived in the Wolds Market Town of Pocklington since summer 2006 when they moved back to Phil's home county of Yorkshire deliriously happy to be back after a decade away.

Phil and Nancy had their first baby Oliver Lewis Baines in October 2008.
