How we help you
The human body is absolutely amazing.
Your body is made up of lots of different tissues (including your bones, muscle, ligaments, tendons and a very special tissue called fascia) all coordinated by the nervous system (including your brain, spinal chord and nerves) any or all of these might be affected by your problem. Our aim is to make sure that these are all working as well as possible.
Chiropractors are best known for manipulation and treating the spine but as well as standard chiropractic techniques Phil has studied many other techniques and has learned many alternative ways to help you feel your best.

At Active Care Chiropractic we firmly believe that in order to be able to help you feel your very best it is important to have a range of methods and techniques. For over a decade Dr Baines has tried to develop a broad repertoire of skills to address all aspects of your problem.
Some of the techniques that Phil specialises in include:
- Graston Technique ®( See Graston Technique/FAKTR-PM page ) - a very specialised form of "instrument assisted" soft tissue mobilising.
- FAKTR-PM (See Graston Technique/FAKTR-PM page) - a fantastic assessment/treatment technique using movement usually including the one that caused and/or provokes the pain.
- Myofascial dry needling - some times called medical acupuncture or western acupuncture this technique is an excellent largely pain free method of relaxing muscle and reducing pain using very, very fine (solid/dry) needles.
- Manipulation (or adjustment) - a very special method using the hands to restore the correct movement to a stiff (stuck) or faulty joint hopefully normalising movement (allowing it to move through it's proper range) and reducing stress on the system.
