Specialist Techniques:

In addition to the more conventional chiropractic techniques Dr Baines has undergone specialist training in several techniques:

Graston Technique

5 years ago Phil was taught to use the Graston Technique® (G.T.) by two world authorities on chiropractic, sports chiropractic and soft tissue injuries Dr Tom Hyde and Dr Warren Hammer.

One of only a handful of people qualified to use the technique in the UK people travel from several hours away to receive this fantastic technique.

Graston Technique uses 6 stainless steel instruments, each contoured to suit different parts of the body. These instruments are stroked over the top of tissues and find and get rid of scar tissue that has built up improving mobility and flexibility allowing a return to normal.

FAKTR

FAKTR (pronounced factor!) is an acronym for Functional And Kinetic Treatment with Rehabilitation. This is a fabulous way of assessing and treating problems using different types of movement (usually including the one that caused the problem) and can achieve phenomenal results in a variety of conditions. It is particularly useful in sports people but can be applied to any action including gardening, playing with the kids, work related activity or anything else.

GT and FAKTR combine to allow one of the most effective ways to alleviate many types of problem and are indispensible in improving performance of any activity from daily chores to professional sport.
