About us

Active Care Chiropractic was started by York chiropractor Dr Philip Baines when he realised that there was a need here in York and North Yorkshire for the type of active care that he offers.

A very experienced Chiropractor, Dr Baines has lived and practiced all over the UK. Graduating from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic with a BSc (Hons) in Chiropractic. Phil spent two further years post graduate completing his doctorate in chiropractic and has continued to learn throughout his career, travelling far and wide to learn from the best practitioners not just in chiropractic but in many forms of manual/physical healthcare.

Although Phil is best known for his work with sports people he loves to treat individuals from all walks of life and believes that everyone has the right to expect the very best health that they can achieve.

Phil and his wife Nancy live in the East Yorkshire Market town of Pocklington with there two children Oliver and Jessica.

Russell is our practice manager. Russ is in charge of the front of house, he is very friendly and very approachable and will be happy to help you in any way he can. Many of our patients arrive early so they can sit and chat to Russ, usually about golf or restaurants!
